Built on the remediated site of a former 10-acre oil production facility in the heart of an established residential neighborhood, the community features two and three-story homes. The plan addressed architectural sensibilities of the existing neighborhood by placing more conventionally designed homes with larger lots facing out toward the neighborhood. Homes set in the interior are “upside down” models with living, kitchen, dining and master bedrooms upstairs, while garages and secondary bedrooms are located downstairs to allow for a smaller footprint and increased density. The architecture and planning approach created a contemporary, high-density typology for the community while preserving traditional qualities.
